Tempted by the Devil by Sienne Vega
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
From the jump, this story pulled me in. I needed to know what was going to happen next. And Portia? Whew. I wanted to throw my tablet at her more than once. She’s supposed to be strong-minded, but some of the stuff she did? Outlandish. I get that her job made her nosy, but she needed to be nosy with caution. If it could go wrong, it went wrong—for her.
Now, Rafael Calderone, that man, walked a razor’s edge. One minute, he’s sweet and romantic, the next, he’s dark, dangerous, and giving off serious stalker vibes. I kept wondering if he had a personality disorder or just a twisted obsession with Portia. The author did a good job of keeping me guessing. I even returned a few times to ensure I didn’t miss anything.
Together, Portia and Rafael burned the pages. Their chemistry was fire. It was the perfect romance—until it wasn’t.
I received an advance review copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.

“The Dragon”

The Dragon 2: Ambw Mafia Romance by Kenya Wright
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Let me start with a PSA: this is book two in a series. A very intense, emotionally layered, soul-gripping series. If you skip book one, you’ll be lost—like showing up to a firework finale without seeing the fuse get lit. Trust me, you need the buildup.
Now, about that ending… whew. Cliffhanger city. I don’t do well with waiting, especially when the tension is high. But according to Amazon, Ms. Wright is dropping book three in October, and I’m already pacing. Fingers crossed she blesses us with an Audible version, because this story deserves narrators who can match its heat and depth.
Books one and two are pure poetry. Kenji embodies a powerful man—smooth, poised, and calculated in every move. His presence is magnetic, and when he speaks to Nyomi? It’s like the sun itself leaned in to listen. His mind is a masterclass in desire, and how does he paint his intentions? Scorching.
Nyomi doesn’t just match his energy—she commands her own. She stands her ground, refuses to be consumed, and dances with Kenji like a Tiger to his Dragon. Their chemistry is a beautiful, erotic tango that left me breathless more than once.
And my favorite part? Near the end of book two. I won’t spoil it, but let me say this: have your BF, rose, or BOB fully charged and within reach. You’ll need it. “Intense” doesn’t even begin to describe it. I was on the edge of my bed, heart racing, and had to walk away to catch my breath.
This series is not just a read—it’s an experience. And I’m so ready for book three.

London Calling by Rita A. Gordon

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
If you’re looking for a story that rushes into passion, this one takes a different—and deeply rewarding—route. London Calling unfolds with a deliciously slow burn between Jasmine and Aaron, rich with innuendo and emotional tension. Their chemistry simmers beneath the surface, shaped by years of shared history and the delicate boundaries of family ties.
Aaron has long been woven into Jasmine’s world—first through her sister’s story in Taming a King, and then as the best friend of her fiercely protective brother. That layered backstory adds depth and complexity, especially for readers familiar with the series. What makes this romance shine is Aaron’s quiet devotion: he never tries to mold Jasmine, only hopes she’ll choose him when the time is right.
Their relationship feels like fate gently unfolding. There’s an ease between them that’s both comforting and electric, and when Amara enters the picture, she completes the emotional arc with grace. She’s not just a character—she’s the heart of their ready-made family, the sweet reward for all the waiting.
From start to finish, the story captivated me. No dull moments, no filler—just Jasmine keeping everyone (including me!) on their toes. A beautiful, heartfelt read that lingers long after the final page

Troy by Rita A. Gordon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
“Troy” is the second novel I’ve had the pleasure of reading by Ms. Gordon, and much like the first, it exceeded all expectations.
This story is a masterclass in the art of the slow burn. Its intensity quietly builds. It is laced with meaningful innuendos. Yet, it never feels hurried or forced. From the very first meeting between Troy and Kennedy, their undeniable, invisible connection begins. This connection takes hold and lingers beautifully throughout the narrative.
Kennedy stands out as the pursuer in this novel. This role is a refreshing twist on the typical dynamics in romance fiction. Both characters are undeniably alphas in their careers and lives, yet Kennedy doesn’t shy away from speaking her truth. Her bold declaration, “I’ll follow you anyway,” holds the strength of unwavering confidence. This moment is so poignant it feels etched in the reader’s mind. And Troy, ever the professional, wrestles with his emotions in a way that adds depth and authenticity to his journey.
Beyond their romance, I was struck by the complexity and relatability of the characters. Kennedy, Troy, and their circle of friends are not just engaging personalities. They are professionals in the truest sense: scientists, business owners, researchers. Despite their impressive achievements, Ms. Gordon crafts them with such humanity. They feel like people you could know, work alongside, or even share coffee with.
Another highlight was the clever inclusion of quotes at the beginning of each chapter. These thoughtful selections tie seamlessly into the themes and add more richness to the storytelling. It’s a testament to Ms. Gordon’s research and attention to detail, finding just the right words to enhance each chapter.
“Troy” is more than a story; it’s an experience. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone—friends, book clubs, or even those stranded on a desert island. This novel has a compelling narrative. Its relatable characters will keep you company and make you smile. You will be left pondering long after you’ve turned the final page.

Dark Desires: Dark Forbidden Age-Gap BWWM Romance by Odyssey Lenoir
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I stumbled upon this book on a whim, never having read anything by Odyssey Lenoir before. The synopsis reeled me in—seriously, who wouldn’t want to dive into a story where two powerful men are battling it out for one woman’s heart? Count me in!
Let’s talk about Christian… Oh, Christian. This man is pure danger. Not in a clichéd way, but in the “always showing up and stealing the scene” kind of way. Wherever Nevaeh is, he’s there too, commanding her in ways that leave her—and the reader—utterly breathless. He wields his power over her like a magician, and she crumbles, but in a way that feels magnetic rather than weak. The tension between them is scorching—so intense that words hardly do it justice. Let’s just say this book is definitely for an adult audience (21+), and if you can appreciate sizzling chemistry, you’re in for a treat. In fact, even though this isn’t a paranormal romance, the bond between Christian and Nevaeh might as well be fate. They’re mates in every way that matters.
At first, Nevaeh wasn’t my favorite. She came across as an adult brat, too afraid to carve out her own life apart from her parents’ influence. She lived for their approval, their reputation, and, let’s face it, their wallet. I was practically yelling for her to confront her father! But by the end, she had evolved. Sure, she still carried a bit of that spoiled edge, but she made decisions that were finally hers—decisions that shaped her life and her relationship with Christian for the better.
Now, let’s circle back to Christian because… Team Christian, all the way! From the moment of their first steamy encounter, I was sold. He could have obliterated his opposition with the force of his power, yet he held back—likely out of respect for his wife. That restraint made him even more intriguing.
Overall, I loved this book. I’m so glad I gave it a chance. From start to finish, it had me hooked. The twists and turns kept me guessing, and just when I thought I had it all figured out—boom! Another surprise.
But don’t just take my word for it. Pick it up, dive in, and enjoy the ride. Trust me, you won’t regret it.

Her Rustanov Bully by Theodora Taylor

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
First and foremost, I am a fan of Theodora Taylor. I have read everything from the Ruthless Nakamaras to Rustanovs. Each book of hers gives something different. I had no clue what to expect from “Her Rustanov Bully.” I must first say I did not like the heroine. Lydia initially lacked the backbone to stand up for herself against her family. Like all good heroines, growth is essential. Lydia stood up to Yom and her father by the end of the story. I was on team Lydia. Yom is by far the darkest Rustanov to date. He was so mean. So mean, it was scary. But I was there. For. It. He wanted everyone to hate Lydia and acted to make it happen. Yet, he fought those who treated her wrong. He wanted his cake and eat it to!!
Yom seemed to have the darkness that Boar, from “Her Russian Beast,” spoke of. He blacked out, and when he came to, the damage was done, and there was no going back. Add that to his youth, the Rustanov’s trillions, and he was dark, dangerous, and deadly to his peers.
Usually, I strongly dislike a cliffhanger. However, this one was not so bad. It left you wanting more. Needing more. Needing to know what happened between Yom and Lydia. But it moved from them being college-aged to adults. I look forward to “Her Rustanov Husband,” which will be released soon. I am gripping the chair, waiting to read it.
I’d highly recommend this book to Ms. Taylor’s fans and new readers who have never read her books before. Remember that Lydia and Yom may be young adults, but you need to be AT LEAST 18 to read this book. The steam comes from the Kindle or tablet when it’s being read.
